ABOUT MIDWEST BEST OF BLACK

The Midwest Best of Black Awards Show Gala was founded February 25, 2023 by Kidada D. Miller in Alton, IL. Our Founder attended another Entrepreneur award show and found a lack of representation of black Entrepreneurs so she decided to create a space just for them. This is a luxury black tie awards gala, where Elegance & Black Excellence meet!

Our Founder

Kidada D. Miller

Kidada D. Miller is a native of Alton, IL. She graduated Alton High School in 1994 where she met her current husband of 24 years, Rahshun. Kidada graduated from Sanford-Brown College in 1997, obtaining her Associates degree in Accounting & Bookkeeping. Currently she is the Operations Finance Coordinator for TorHoerman Law, sits on the Board of Directors for the YWCA of Alton as well; she sits on ESTL Advisory Board. Kidada is also Founder of K Miller Foundation, the organization that host Midwest Best of Black. She's also a certified luxury floral and event designer and IL Notary Public. Kidada is a firm believer in if you find a problem, you fix it. Hence the Midwest Best of Black Awards Gala was born

Everything I expected, and more

I had an amazing time at last year’s best of black gala and I cannot wait to see all the things that are going to be done this year. The different categories were amazing. The awards were amazing. Seeing everybody get together and love on each other and support each other was so amazing. That is something that we are still lacking in doing but I thank God that Kidada has taken up the mantle and doing what We should’ve been doing years ago.
